The OYL AGM took place this past weekend. The big story across the blogosphere was the voting irregularities and the forging of delegate badges by the OYL first team.
In an executive meeting after the convention(I know this on good authority), the new President admitted that she tried to have one person vote illegally, and that this person was rejected by the CRO.
Thats the truth that is out right now.
The idea of forged delegate badges is a serious one, and the people who did this should really think about what they are doing to the Liberal Party, and think of the party on the badge, not their desire to win a Young Liberal election.
What will happen next? I don't know, but the Ontario Young Liberals have some serious soul searching to do.
I will keep you updated as this story develops.

Wow, asking someone to vote illegally is absolutely unacceptable, and this person should resign or be impeached immediately. This kind of thing damages the reputation of everyone in politics, and particularly the Liberal Party at a time when Canadians are just beginning to open up to the possibility of us returning to power.

Jamie:
Brave "Anonymous" has been repeating this line of commentary wherever he or she can.
Given that it is anonymous, clearly libellous, without any shred of back-up evidence but clearly based on past animosities, it might be prudent to delete it until such a time as (1)Brave "Anonymous" can identify himself or herself so we can judge for ourselves whether he or she is even someone who might possibly know what they are talking about and (2) substantiate the claim to any linkage to Ms Brundson and Mr. Easton with any fragment of support and not just.
Until then, I think you are fully justified in deleting such personal vendattas for the libel that they are.
Funny, it's the first time I posted Ted. Maybe it has more to do with the fact everyone knows Jason & Denise were running the war room and everyone knows that's where the printing supplies and technical expertise were.
If you know anything about running for election at a convention, you know that the candidate has little, if any, time to spend at the war room.
If you know anything about Krista she barely has the technical ability to use her blackberry let alone have anything to do with fake delegate badges.
Doesn't matter what her technical expertise is. If you're a candidate, the buck stops with you.
Brave "Anonymous": I don't know what is "funny" about it. I don't know what happened or who did what or who would be in a position to know what. It has been many a year since I was a young Liberal.
I do know that your post was very defamatory of both Ms Brundson and Mr. Easton. And I do know that you have not given us any support for your accusation other than supposition. And I do know that you have not even shown readers here the courtesy of your name so we could judge whether this is some personal gripe you have against them or whether you are someone who might be in a position to know something.
That puts Jamie in a difficult position with his blog since your unsupported, clearly libellous anonymous claim sits there for the world to read on his blog.
Clarity: The brave "anonymous" to which I am responding is the one who wrote at 1:27 and at 1:54, the one who thinks it is "funny" to write such comments.
If OYL makes any attempt to manage this in Krista's favour, its going to blow up in their faces big time.
This is really putting me in a difficult place. I only reported the facts I know which exist.
I was not in Ottawa, and I don't know the roles of Denise and Jason, and I would like to hear their side of the story.
Thirdly, I am not sure if anonymous postings are the best idea if this libellous talk is posted on my blog. That is why I reported the known truths of what happened at the OYL AGM.
With so many brave anonyMouses, it is hard to keep up. The least you folks could do is give yourselves a fake name so we can be clear to whom we are referring.
At any rate...
Brave Anonymous 2:23: your comment barely deserves any acknowledgement. I am certainly not going to make an unsubstantiated hypothetical rumour worse by hypothesizing about hypothetical outcomes. Get real.
Brave Anonymous 2:25: Obviously you misunderstand. I don't have a problem with someone making a quick commentary anonymously. My issue is with those who anonymously defame others, anonymously sow division, anonymously take personal swipes at other individuals. If you are going to get personal in your attacks - never a good idea on blogs as it makes the attacker look at least as bad - then at the very least put your name to the comment. To do otherwise is clearly very cowardly. It does not give the attacked person or the other readers any chance to put some context on your comments.
If Denise has already confessed her role please show me where. You are the only one who has made any claim against her as far as I can tell.
I have no idea whether she had a role or not and I am making no defence of Denise and I don't even know Jason. I am only pointing out that you have been cowardly with this drive-by anonymous comment which is, if you can't substantiate it, very clearly libellous. Especially since, as you concede, everything so far has been hearsay. Learn a little law, brave anonymous. And a little common sense and a big dose of reality.
I have no idea what your history or beef is with these two. I hardly know Denise and I don't know Jason at all so I'm not sure why you have so much anger that you now have to start attacking me. Rather juvenile a reaction, don't you think?

this one made me laugh
I've heard of narrow focused blogs, but that one has to take the cake: a whole blog created for the sole purpose of attacking the OYL.
What a waste of electrons.
yeah, I wonder what the next post on that blog will be about. It is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
